Problem Statement

PALOMA was looking to redesign their existing website. The website was not usable for the users because the information was too cluttered. Users were having a hard time operating the website. Selecting a certain product out of the long and cluttered list makes it an impossible task.

Core Customer Needs

Finding the right product

The existing website makes it impossible for the users to browse through the product. It’s not sorted well and information gets cluttered.

Product specification is essential

One drawback about shopping digitally is the fact that the users aren’t able to feel the material. Therefore every single product specification needs to be described in details.

Physical store information should be supported

A lot of people only use the website to browse the product selections. Most of them will still need to go to the physical store in the end. Therefore, information about physical store locations should be available.

Responsive website

Website should be responsive to support different lifestyles of the users. Most of the customers access the website while they’re on-the-move.

Developing a style guide for the website is useful to ensure brand consistency across the platform. This style guide reflects the brand identity for designers and developers to use.

PRODUCT FILTERING

Selecting a certain product type from a long range of product list can be a frustrating task if it's not facilitated well. Therefore, separating the products into different types of categories become the main strategy in improving the usability of the website.

PRODUCT PAGE

The product page serves as a product information page as if it was a part of a catalog. It shows all the important detailed information about the product. Users can download the pdf version of each product. There is a specific section made for the technical specifications of the product. This section shows the technical drawing of the product, giving it a more comprehensive detail for the users.

Design Approach

As an Italian made product, PALOMA offers technologically advanced products for the customers in an affordable price range. PALOMA was seeking to establish a clean and classy look and feel towards the website design. This kind of style was believed to reflect their product design very well. I used simplicity in the design approach to achieve minimalist aesthetics.
